Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to book a turf and follow a league. This is what we do for that, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

Last updated 1 October 2026

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

Images

  • Every photo that carries meaning has a text description for screen readers.
  • Decorative images and repeated logos are hidden from screen readers, so they don’t get in the way.

Colour and contrast

  • Body text has a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against its background, and large headings at least 3 to 1.
  • Colour is never the only way something is shown: a full time slot is marked full, and a picked pitch is marked as picked.

Keyboard

  • Everything on the site can be reached and used with a keyboard, and whatever has focus shows a clear ring.
  • A “Skip to content” link is the first thing the Tab key reaches.
  • On the booking page, Tab moves through the turfs, days, sports and times; Enter or Space picks one, including the pieces of a pitch on the map.
  • The booking window keeps the keyboard inside it while it is open. Escape closes it and returns you to where you were.

Forms

  • Every field has a visible label. Required fields are marked, and optional ones say so.
  • Mistakes are explained in words next to the field and announced to screen readers.
  • Each form has a Clear button that empties it in one go.
  • Consent checkboxes are never ticked for you.

Motion

If your device is set to reduce motion, the site cuts back its decorative animations. The custom cursor appears only with a mouse or trackpad; touch screens and keyboards are unaffected.

Known limitations

  • Each league keeps its own colours. White on the LPL orange and the IIC green meets the standard for large text, but some smaller labels on those colours fall short. We are reworking them.
  • Live scores update every few seconds without an announcement; refresh to hear the latest score with a screen reader.
  • Some older league photos have short descriptions that we are improving.

Tell us about a problem

If something on the site doesn’t work for you, tell us what you were trying to do and on which page, and we will fix it or help you another way.
